ABOUT
Cynthia Bain’s Young Actor Studio, LLC is an industry-renowned training ground for young professional actors, aspiring young performers, and 18+ TPY (To Play Younger) actors.
For over 20 years, our results-driven programs have helped launch thousands of successful careers — from major film stars to series regulars to consistently working actors. The impact of our classes, camps, and coaching is unparalleled in the industry.

OUR MISSION
At CBYAS, our mission is to train and inspire young actors to approach their craft with purpose, discipline, and creative integrity. We help students cultivate a powerful mindset — one grounded in goal-setting, accountability, and a deep respect for the work. Whether a student’s journey leads to a professional career or personal growth through artistic exploration, our focus remains the same: excellence, clarity, and long-term development — both as an actor and as a human being.

SCENE STUDY CLASSES
Scene Study is the foundation of all acting training — and we believe it’s the single most important investment an actor can make.
That's why we specialize in Scene Study.
Our signature Scene Study classes are rigorous, results-oriented, and rooted in deep Script Analysis. While classes may also include vocal warm-ups, exercises, improv, and audition technique, scene work remains the core focus of our approach.
Class sizes are intentionally small to ensure every student works in every class. Our program structure supports long-term growth, consistency, and artistic trust — all essential to the development of serious, working actors.
Classes are ongoing, and new students may apply at any time. Due to limited space and high demand, most classes have waitlists.

IN ADDITION TO OUR CORE SCENE STUDY CLASSES,
WE ALSO OFFER:

-
Private Audition Coaching
-
Private Acting Lessons
-
Private Career Consultations
-
Private Coaching for your Reel
-
Private On-Set / Shooting Preparation
-
Acting Intensive Camps

TUITION & payment Policies
About CBYAS Scene Study Tuition & Enrollment
The Studio’s core Scene Study classes are structured for long-term growth through consistent participation. All students are required to
begin with a 12-class minimum commitment, followed by automatic month-to-month enrollment unless a written cancellation is received.
Due to limited space and high demand, most classes have waitlists. Many students study with us for years — and consistent attendance is
key to growth, trust, and the learning process.

Once you begin classes at #CBYAS, your starting rate is locked in for the duration of your time in that class — even if rates increase! This means your tuition will remain the same as long as you are continuously enrolled in — or officially on Break Status from (see Break Policy section below) — the same class. We currently have students paying the same rate they did six years ago — just by staying in class!

Attendance & Communication
-
All students are expected to arrive on time and stay for the whole duration of class.
-
If a student is going to be LATE, ABSENT, or LEAVING EARLY, they must notify the Studio by filling out the Absence Form. Submissions go directly to the instructor and are the fastest way to ensure your update is received.
-
The office does not manage attendance. Please do not email the office with attendance-related information.
-
Two or more unexcused absences per month (i.e., no Attendance Form submitted in advance) may result in dismissal from the class.
-
If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the instructor may ask them to observe rather than participate in the class.
-
Instructor feedback is available upon request for students who have been enrolled in and attended at least 12 classes. Students who have not completed 12 classes will not be eligible for instructor feedback.

VIRTUAL CLASSES – Zoom Access, Materials & Cell Phones

Zoom Access
All classes begin promptly. Students must click their Zoom link a few minutes before class and wait in the #CBYAS Waiting Room until admitted by the instructor. This is the best time to test your video and audio settings.

Class Materials
Upon enrolling in the class, you will receive an email with all required materials and class information. Please ensure you have access to your
Student Portal and all class materials during every session. Refer to the instructions in your portal for the best way to set up your device for
class.

Cell Phones
Cell phones are not permitted during class time and should be silenced or turned off.

IN-PERSON CLASSES ONLY – Materials, Cell Phones & Pick-Up Policy

Class Materials
Upon enrollment, students receive a folder of class materials. This folder must be brought to every class. Replacement folders are available for $10. The Studio provides pencils, pens, and highlighters. Students should wear comfortable clothes and a light sweater, as the theater may be cool.
Cell Phones
Cell phones must be placed in the designated basket in the lobby before class begins. If a phone rings during class, the student may be asked to wait outside until the working scene concludes.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Students may be dropped off no earlier than 15 minutes before their class or coaching session and must be picked up immediately afterward. A parent or guardian must pick up students under the age of 14. A $1 per minute fee applies for early drop-offs or late pick-ups beyond the 15-minute grace period.
