The CBYAS Gratitude in Action
Scholarship Program
Created by Cynthia Bain to expand access to transformative actor training, the CBYAS Gratitude in Action Scholarship celebrates young artists who lead with purpose, discipline, and authenticity — and who approach their craft as a means of growth, truth, and service.

This inaugural year is dedicated to the memory of Annet McCroskey — Cynthia’s dear friend, collaborator, and unwavering supporter — whose generosity of spirit and belief in young artists continue to inspire this work.

mission
&Purpose
The CBYAS Gratitude in Action Scholarship was founded by Cynthia Bain to expand access to professional-caliber actor training for passionate, dedicated young artists — regardless of financial circumstances. Inspired by Cynthia’s belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to grow through creative discipline, the program reflects the values that define CBYAS: excellence, integrity, and artistic courage.
Because true creative growth requires both courage and support.

Each year, the scholarship honors an individual whose generosity, spirit, or artistry reflects those same ideals. The 2025–2026 Gratitude in Action  Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Annet  McCroskey, whose warmth, creativity, and unwavering belief in young actors helped inspire the program’s creation.

Open to new, returning, and current CBYAS students, the scholarship provides a safe, supportive environment where actors can grow in skill, confidence, and character—whether their path leads to a professional career or personal growth through artistic exploration.

2025 Honoree:
Annet McCroskey

Annet McCroskey (1973–2025)
Annet McCroskey believed deeply in young talent.
Annet’s gift for recognizing potential—and her unwavering commitment to mentorship—shaped countless young careers, including many at CBYAS. She was not only a cherished friend of Cynthia’s but also a steadfast supporter of our studio’s mission.

To honor her legacy, Cynthia Bain’s Young Actor Studio is proud to present this year’s CBYAS Gratitude in Action Scholarship in honor of Annet McCroskey—awarded to deserving young actors who may need help accessing the training she valued most, and who embody the heart, courage, and creative spirit Annet championed throughout her life.

"Annet’s generosity changed the lives of so many. Your gift will help her spirit continue to inspire the next generation of actors.” — Cynthia Bain
