A Different Kind of Summer Intensive
The CBYAS Summer Acting Intensive is a focused, three-day virtual training experience for young actors ready to train at a professional standard.

Each day is designed to challenge students artistically while strengthening technique, confidence, and creative discipline — the kind of work that supports long-term growth.

Students train in CBYAS’s Signature Scene Study + Script Analysis Class, under the direction of Master Acting Teacher Cynthia Bain, alongside the CBYAS faculty. Daily improv and sketch work with CBYAS instructor Audrey Whitby expands range, spontaneity, and emotional availability.

The result is a high-level, immersive experience that pushes actors beyond their comfort zone and supports more grounded, connected, and truthful work.
What Students Will Train In
Led by Master Acting Teacher Cynthia Bain and the CBYAS faculty, students participate in focused training designed to challenge their craft and support real growth.

This intensive emphasizes:
★ Specialized Youth Actor Training

Cynthia Bain’s Young Actor Studio is dedicated exclusively to training young performers. Unlike adult-focused studios that offer youth classes as an afterthought, CBYAS is built entirely around the developmental, artistic, and professional needs of young actors.

Every element of this intensive reflects that focus — creating a training environment designed to support serious growth at every stage.
★ Age-Appropriate Scene Study & Craft Development

Training centers on scene study and character work tailored to the actor’s age and experience. Students learn how to analyze text, build grounded performances, and make truthful choices — strengthening technique, confidence, and creative range.
This is focused, intentional work that challenges students artistically while meeting them where they are.
★ A Supportive, Foundation-First Environment

CBYAS training is rooted in foundation. Students are taught how to work — with discipline, preparation, and respect for the process — so confidence is built through consistency, not pressure.

We emphasize a CANI (Constant And Never-ending Improvement) mindset, gratitude for the work, and replacing “can’t” with “can.” The result is actors who are grounded, resilient, and capable of sustaining long-term growth in both their craft and their careers.
★High-Level Training & Direct Mentorship
Led by Master Acting Teacher Cynthia Bain alongside the CBYAS faculty, this intensive offers the same professional standard that defines our ongoing training. Students receive clear guidance, thoughtful feedback, and expectations aligned with what it truly means to train like a working actor.

This Is Where Serious Young Actors Train
“I Love That We Specialize in Scene Study Exclusively for Young Actors.

What sets us apart is that my entire teaching staff consists of former young performers who trained with me and are now back as passionate teachers.
It’s truly a program ‘by young actors, for young actors’ — designed to give you the insider tools you need to succeed."
