  • Chatting with Cynthia: Special Guest David Kendall
    Tue, May 05
    #CBYAS Virtual Studio
Join us in this chat for enrolled students where Cynthia will be interviewing writer/director/producer David Kendall, who is currently Executive Producer on The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia!

  • Be sure to download the Zoom application to your computer well before the day of the chat. You can do so here: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting. Make sure to download the “Zoom Client For Meetings.”

  • Watch this video for great tips on how to set up for the call from photographer Matthew Rolston: http://tinyurl.com/CBYASwebcam

  • Choose a location with a strong internet connection. Ideally hard-wired in. If you are not sure if your connection is fast enough go here: https://tinyurl.com/CBYASspeed.

  • You will be emailed a link to join the Chat after you register.

  • Set up in a private, quiet room, with no distractions or other people, where you will be able to easily stand or sit.

  • You camera and microphone will automatically be off when you enter the Chat. LEAVE YOUR CAMERA AND MIC OFF. Cynthia or Jillian will contact you directly if you are selected to ask a question!

  • Please use a simple chair, one that does not swivel.

  • The camera on your device should be at eye level or slightly above.

  • Set up where there is light on your face and where Cynthia can clearly see your eyes. (Don’t set up with your back to a window. This will create a silhouette, which is not good for visibility. It’s better for you to be facing the window.)

  • Use the restroom before the chat begins.

  • Use headphones.

  • Have a glass of water on hand.

  • Make sure that you have a pen and paper handy to take notes.

  • Be at your computer ready to go a few minutes before the chat. Feel free to click the link early! The chat will start automatically when Cynthia joins.

  • When the class starts, remember to enable your audio by clicking “Call using Internet Audio.”
